Today, we’re unveiling those heroes who might not pursue ultimate offense or defense, but who can turn the tide of battle with unique skills, paving the way for team victory—they are the Battlefield Masterminds!
These heroes are the strategists and master tacticians of the battlefield; every precise crowd control, critical buff, or clever debuff can be the final straw that breaks the enemy’s back.

Hard Crowd Controllers
1. Frostshadow
Hero Profile: Water Element, A-tier Control Burst Assassin
Control Skill Analysis:
- Active Skill (Core Control): While dealing high damage to enemies, has a chance to Freeze the target for 2 turns, rendering them unable to act.
Core Gameplay (Control): Frostshadow’s value lies not just in burst damage, but crucially in her Freeze control. Successfully freezing an enemy’s core damage dealer or healer can instantly change the tide of battle.
Team Composition Tip: Pair with heroes who increase effect accuracy or possess other freezing skills to form a “Permafreeze” composition, making it nearly impossible for enemies to act.
2. Emma
Hero Profile: Wind Element, S-tier Control Warrior
Control Skill Analysis:
- Normal Attack: Increases her own Speed, allowing her to apply control faster.
- Active Skill (Core Control): Deals damage to the two enemies with the highest Rage, and has a high chance to Stun them, interrupting their skill rotation.
Core Gameplay (Control): Emma is a precise controller designed to target enemy ultimate skill users. By attacking high-Rage enemies and applying Stun, she can effectively prevent opponents from unleashing critical ultimate abilities.
Team Composition Tip: Suitable for fast-paced teams, providing pre-emptive control on key enemy targets to set up your team’s focus fire or subsequent control chains.
3. Foxlord
Hero Profile: Earth Element, A-tier Control Mage
Control Skill Analysis:
- Active Skill (Core Control): Deals decent damage to all enemies while having a low chance to inflict Petrify status, rendering them unable to act.
Core Gameplay (Control): Foxlord’s AoE Petrify, though low probability, can be utterly devastating if multiple targets are affected. It’s a high-risk, high-reward crowd control.
Team Composition Tip: Can be paired with supports who increase effect accuracy, or used as a surprising control option.
Precision Debuffers
4. Liuwen
Hero Profile: Water Element, A-tier Recovery Ranger (Skillset leans towards disruption)
Control Skill Analysis:
- Active Skill (Core Disruption): Deals high damage to all enemies while significantly reducing the healing they receive.
Core Gameplay (Disruption): Liuwen is the bane of all Healer heroes. His “Healing Immunity” effect makes it difficult for enemies to recover when low on health, greatly increasing your team’s success rate in focusing fire and eliminating targets.
Team Composition Tip: Liuwen is incredibly effective against teams with strong Pastors.
5. Ginger
Hero Profile: Wind Element, A-tier Disruptor Ranger
Control Skill Analysis:
- Normal Attack: Targets and damages the enemy with the highest Attack Power, consistently suppressing them.
- Active Skill (Core Disruption): Deals damage to the fastest enemy hero while reducing their Speed.
Core Gameplay (Disruption): Ginger excels at disrupting enemy tempo. Her normal attack suppresses enemy main damage dealers, while her skill reduces the Speed of enemy first-movers, potentially allowing your slower units to act first and gain action advantage.
Team Composition Tip: Suitable for compositions that need to gain Speed advantage or target enemy core damage dealers.
6. Yiguang
Hero Profile: Wind Element, S-tier Support Pastor
Control Skill Analysis:
- Active Skill (Core Disruption/Support): Deals damage to all enemies while reducing their Accuracy.
Core Gameplay (Disruption/Support): Yiguang’s effect of reducing all enemies’ accuracy is a heavy blow to teams reliant on control effects like Freeze or Petrify, or high burst damage. It effectively increases your team’s survivability.
Team Composition Tip: Highly effective against teams reliant on accuracy, and can also protect your high-evasion units.
We’ve previously mentioned some heroes in the [Damage Dealers] and [Healers & Shielders] sections whose skills also include important disruption effects, such as:
- Fan: His normal attack can reduce the energy of the opposing hero, delaying their skill activation.
- Slime: His skill deals damage to the highest defense hero and applies Armor Break, weakening enemy Tanks.
- Lee: His skill, while striking low-HP enemies, also reduces the healing they receive.
Team Buffers & Damage Amplifiers
7. Lin
Hero Profile: Fire Element, S-tier Damage Amplification Pastor
Control Skill Analysis:
- Active Skill (Core Vulnerability): While dealing damage to all enemies, can increase the damage all enemies receive.
Core Gameplay (Support/Buff): Lin’s “Vulnerability” effect significantly amplifies your team’s overall damage output, making her a crucial support for focusing fire and eliminating targets.
Team Composition Tip: Ideal for pairing with burst damage compositions to deal devastating damage in a short period.
8. Flame Dragon
Hero Profile: Fire Element, A-tier Aura Warrior
Control Skill Analysis:
- Active Skill (Disruption): Deals damage to all enemies while reducing enemy Evasion.
- Passive Skill 2 (Core Buff): Increases the Accuracy of your entire team.
Core Gameplay (Support/Buff): While acting as a Tank, Flame Dragon provides a valuable Accuracy aura for the entire team and reduces enemy Evasion, ensuring the stability of your team’s damage and control.
Team Composition Tip: Extremely well-suited for pairing with heroes reliant on Accuracy, such as DoT heroes, Freezing heroes, or high-burst damage dealers with naturally lower base accuracy.
9. Baosi
Hero Profile: Earth Element, S-tier Disruptor Ranger
Control Skill Analysis:
- Active Skill (Core Vulnerability): Deals high damage to enemy backline units while increasing the damage these backline units receive.
Core Gameplay (Support/Buff): Baosi is a powerful attacker and damage amplification support targeting enemy backlines. She not only directly damages the backline but also provides a damage amplification effect for other backline-attacking allies (like Jiguang).
Team Composition Tip: Pairs exceptionally well with other heroes adept at attacking the backline (e.g., Jiguang).
Battlefield Masterminds Summary:
As you can see, Battlefield Masterminds carve another path to victory through various ingenious skills, beyond just damage and survival. They might not be the most eye-catching stars on the stat sheet, but their presence often allows the entire team’s tactical system to operate more smoothly, even creating miracles where the underdog triumphs.
Skillfully utilizing these battle-controlling heroes, understanding the timing of their skill activations, and their synergistic strategies will be key to elevating your gameplay from good to excellent!
