"Call of Fate" Tactical Academy (Part 1):"Burn Team" Core Heroes and Composition Strategies

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the first lesson of the [Tactical Academy]! In previous guides, we learned about the individual roles of heroes. However, on the battlefield of Call of Fate, going solo rarely works. Combining heroes with specific chemical reactions is crucial to unleash terrifying power that's greater than the sum of its parts. Today, we're dissecting one of the most iconic systems, known for its sustained damage and burst potential: the Burn Team!

What is a "Burn Team"?

A "Burn Team" is a tactical system centered around the "Burn" status effect, which is a Damage over Time (DoT) mechanic. Its basic logic is very clear:

  • Igniters: Some heroes in the team are responsible for applying the "Burn" status to enemies, making them lose health continuously, like a fuse-lit dynamite barrel.
  • Detonators: Other core heroes possess special abilities that deal massive additional damage to enemies already in a "Burn" state, instantly "detonating" these barrels for devastating strikes.

Pros: Extremely high damage potential, often capable of significant AoE (Area of Effect) damage, consistently lowering enemy HP, and possessing burst capability to win a fight in one fell swoop. Cons: Relies on skill synergy between heroes. If core heroes are controlled or instantly eliminated, the entire system might falter.

"Burn Team" Core Heroes Detailed Analysis

Core Igniters

These heroes are the engine of the Burn strategy, responsible for spreading flames across the battlefield.

1. Eros

Hero Profile: Light Element, S-tier DoT Ranger

Source of Burn:

  • Passive Skill 2 (Tactical Core): At the start of battle, directly inflicts Burn status on all enemies! This is the strongest opening skill for a Burn Team, bar none. It ensures our "Detonators" can unleash maximum power from the very first turn.
  • Active Skill: Randomly attacks two enemy targets and has a chance to inflict Burn, continuously replenishing the effect.

Tactical Commentary: Eros is the absolute tactical core and initiator of the Burn Team. His presence gives the Burn Team an unparalleled opening advantage.

2. Faya

Hero Profile: Fire Element, S-tier DoT Mage

Source of Burn:

  • Active Skill: Deals high damage to all enemies while having a chance to inflict Burn status.

Tactical Commentary: Faya is a powerful AoE "Igniter." She can deal direct damage while broadly applying or extending the Burn effect, continuously providing "fuel" for "Detonators" like Nobel.

Core Detonator

He is the executioner of the Burn Team, responsible for converting flames into ultimate victory.

3. Nobel

Hero Profile: Fire Element, S-tier Burn Assassin

Power of Detonation:

  • Normal Attack & Active Skill (Tactical Core): All of Nobel's damaging skills deal incredibly massive additional damage when attacking enemies in a Burn state.

Tactical Commentary: Nobel is the sharpest blade and ultimate finisher of the Burn Team. His mission is pure: once his teammates have spread the flames, he finds his target and eliminates them with a single strike. A well-developed Nobel, facing enemies engulfed in Burn, is like a War God descending upon the battlefield.

"Burn Team" Excellent Components and Composition Strategies

Composition One: Extreme Damage Output

  • Backline: Eros, Faya, Nobel
  • Frontline: Flame Dragon + Ray (or Tesla)

Composition Idea: This lineup maximizes the internal synergy of the Burn system. The three core heroes in the backline unleash full damage. Eros ignites all enemies at the start, Faya's AoE replenishes Burn, and Nobel seizes opportunities to detonate. Flame Dragon is the top choice for the frontline; his passive increases the entire team's effect accuracy, which is crucial for ensuring Eros and Faya's ignition success rate. The second frontline choice, Ray or Tesla, are pure Tanks whose goal is to survive as long as possible, creating a damage window for the backline.

Pros & Cons: Maxed-out damage output, wide Burn coverage, strong burst. However, the team lacks healing, leading to lower fault tolerance. If the frontline is quickly breached, the backline will be very vulnerable.

Composition Two: Balanced Offense & Defense

  • Backline: Eros, Nobel, Aria (or Scholar)
  • Frontline: Flame Dragon + Gao ChangGong (or Whiteedge)

Composition Idea: This lineup follows a "sacrifice one, protect two" philosophy. We retain the most important initiator Eros and finisher Nobel of the Burn system. One igniter slot (Faya) is swapped for a dedicated healing hero like Aria or a shielding Pastor like Scholar, significantly boosting the team's survival and sustain. This makes the team's strategy more stable. Even if the battle drags into the mid-to-late game, the team can maintain healthy HP, ensuring Nobel can complete his eliminations.

Pros & Cons: Greatly improved survival and fault tolerance, more adaptable to prolonged battles. However, it sacrifices Faya's AoE damage and Burn replenishment, making the instant burst and HP-pressure capabilities slightly lower than the "Extreme Damage Output" composition.

Composition Three: Damage Amplification Burst

  • Backline: Eros, Nobel, Lin
  • Frontline: Two sturdiest Tank combinations, like Ray + Tesla

Idea Analysis: This is another variation of extreme damage output. It foregoes Faya's AoE Burn in favor of Lin's "All Enemy Vulnerability" Debuff. The tactical core becomes: Eros initiates Burn -> Lin unleashes her ultimate to increase all enemy damage taken -> Nobel utilizes both Vulnerability and Burn debuffs for devastating strikes on key enemy units. This combination leans more towards rapid single-target focused burst.
